Why is the error “Your account is pending exchange activation which takes 24-48 hours.” displayed even though the account is opened?
The error is displayed because the exchange has not activated the respective segment of the equity or commodity account. Once the e-sign is completed, Zerodha uploads the account opening data to the exchanges for activation, after which the welcome mail is sent. Exchanges can take up to 24-48 hours to complete this process. This error will be displayed if orders are placed before the exchanges complete the process. This message is generally shown for new accounts opened within 3 days, including weekends and holidays.
Please try placing an order after 24 hours. If the error is displayed even after 24 hours, please create a ticket.
