What are the brokerage charges for minor accounts at Zerodha?
The brokerage charges for minor accounts are as follows:
Equity delivery
Minors cannot buy stocks. Instead, the guardian can either transfer existing securities in their demat account or buy and transfer securities into the minor’s account. Clients can either transfer using CDSL easiest or use Zerodha’s gift feature. Gifting is an easier process compared to regular transfers.
Minors can sell holdings from their demat account. There are no brokerage charges for selling their holdings. However, a minimum of ₹0.01 will be charged per contract note. As per taxation rules, a service can not be provided for an absolute 0 fee, due to which a token amount of 1 paisa is charged.
Equity intraday
Minors cannot place any intraday equity orders.
Futures and Options (F&O)
Minors cannot place any equity, currency and commodity F&O orders.
To learn all the charges involved, see List of all charges and taxes.
