Why did I receive a payment request from Zerodha which I did not raise?
This could be possible when a Zerodha client would have used your UPI ID to raise the request erroneously, which is why you would have received the request. This generally happens with similar names and surnames.
Even if the request has been accepted, the funds will not be added to the client's account since they're not coming from an account which is linked with the Zerodha account. We check if the funds are coming from the mapped (linked) bank account. We check for the account number and see if it is linked to our account. If it is not, we reject the transfer, sending the amount back to your account.
