Why is the 'Mutual fund' row on the daily margin statement negative for me?
As you can see in the image below the 'mutual fund' row shows a negative value.
This implies, that for this client, the value of the purchase of mutual funds is higher than the value of mutual funds redeemed.
In the above example, the 'Mutual fund' row shows a value of -14200. The scenarios under which this can be the case is,
- The client has purchased mutual funds worth Rs 14200.
- The client has purchased mutual funds and also redeemed some of them, but the purchase value is Rs 14200 more than the redemption value.
If the value in this row is positive, it means that the value of redemption is higher than the value of purchases made (i.e profits).
