How to add family members to a Zerodha account?

You can add family members to your Zerodha account to view their portfolios at a family level. You can link up to 10 accounts using the family accounts feature.

How to add family members from Kite app

  1. Tap on Portfolio.
  2. Tap on Family.
  3. Tap on Link a sub-account.
  4. Tap on Link a sub-account again and enter their user ID, PAN and mobile number/email.
  5. Tap on Continue.
  6. An SMS with the verification link will be sent to the mobile number/email of the sub-account holder, which will be valid for 2 hours. The sub-account holder has to authorise the request by tapping on the verification link and login to Console using the sub-account holder's login details. The parent account holder can only view the portfolio of a sub-account after authorisation.

How to add family members on Kite web

  1. Visit kite.zerodha.com/holdings and click on Family.
  2. Click on Link a sub-account.
  3. Enter the sub-account’s Kite user ID, PAN, and mobile number/email and click on Continue.
  4. An SMS with the verification link will be sent to the mobile number/email of the sub-account holder, which will be valid for 2 hours. How to analyse portfolios at family level

To analyse portfolios at a family level, follow these steps:

  1. Click on Portfolio.
  2. Click on Holdings.
  3. Click on Family.


You can only view holdings at a family level.

How to remove sub-accounts

  1. Click on Family.
  2. Click on Remove and then Continue.

If you're adding the minor's account as a sub-account, the minor's account must accept the confirmation and not the guardian's account.
