How to add family members to a Zerodha account?

To add family members, follow these steps:

  1. Tap on Portfolio.
  2. Tap on Family.
  3. Tap on Link a sub- account.
  4. Tap on Link a sub-account again and enter their user ID, PAN and mobile number.
  5. Tap on Continue.
  6. An SMS with the verification link will be sent to the mobile number of the sub-account holder, which will be valid for 2 hours. The sub-account holder has to authorise the request by tapping on the verification link and login to Console using the sub-account holder's login details. The parent account holder can only view the portfolio of a sub-account after authorisation.


  1. Visit kite.zerodha.com/holdings and click on Family.
  2. Click on Link a sub-account.
  3. Enter the sub-account’s Kite user ID, PAN, and mobile number and click on Continue .
  4. An SMS with the verification link will be sent to the mobile number of the sub-account holder, which will be valid for 2 hours. The sub-account holder has to authorize the request by clicking on the verification link and login to Console using the sub-account holder's login details. The parent account holder can only view the portfolio of a sub-account after authorization.

To analyse portfolios at a family level, follow these steps:

  1. Click on Portfolio.
  2. Click on Holdings.
  3. Click on Family.


  • Only holdings can be viewed at a family level. More features in the form of tagging, goal setting, etc., will be added in future releases.
  • A maximum of 10 accounts can be linked using the family accounts feature.

To remove sub-accounts, follow these steps:

  1. Click on Family.
  2. Click on Remove and then Continue.
