What is my DP name, DP ID, BO ID, and demat ID?

To view all the details of your demat such as Depository Participant (DP) name, Depository Participant (DP)  ID, Beneficiary Owner (BO) ID, and demat ID visit console.zerodha.com/account/demat.



What is my DP name?

Your Depository Participant (DP) name is Zerodha Broking Limited. The DP is a member of the depository. The demat account where all the securities are stored is opened with the depository (CDSL) through the DP (Zerodha).

What is my DP ID?

Your DP ID¹ is 12081600 or 12081601. It is the identification number of the Depository participant (DP), i.e. the entity where your demat account is maintained. The membership of Zerodha at CDSL is indicated using this DP ID which will be the same for all Zerodha customers.

What is my BO ID?

The BO ID (Beneficiary Owner Identification Number) is an 8 digit number used to identify your unique demat account held with the depository (CDSL), through your  Depository Participant (DP).

What is my demat ID?

The demat ID is a 16 digit number which is the DP ID followed by your BO ID. This is your unique demat account ID that you will need when applying for IPOs or for generating the CDSL TPIN for holdings authorisation².

During an IPO application or CDSL TPIN authorisation, the website asks for a 16 digit BO ID, which is the demat ID (DP+BO ID) to be entered.
