How to open a Basic Service Demat Account (BSDA) at Zerodha?
When a client opens a demat account online, it is automatically considered as BSDA as long as the account fulfils the criteria mentioned below:
- They have one demat account.
- The value of their stocks, mutual funds, bonds etc. is less than ₹2 lakhs on the date when Account Maintenance Charge (AMC) is levied. See What is Account Maintenance Charge (AMC) with regard to my demat account at Zerodha?
The AMC is charged quarterly from the account opening date based on the respective holdings values:
Holding value | AMC (exclusive of GST) |
Up to ₹50,000 | No AMC |
₹50,001 to ₹2,00,000 | ₹25 per quarter |
Above ₹2,00,000 | ₹75 per quarter |
