You can deactivate your F&O (Futures and Options) segment in two ways:
Temporary deactivation
You can temporarily disable your F&O segment using the Kill switch feature. This keeps your segment disabled until you choose to enable it again. Before you disable a segment, ensure you have no open orders or positions. Once you disable a segment, you can re-enable it only after 12 hours.
Deactivation through account modification
You can deactivate your F&O segment by submitting an account modification form (link):
For individual accounts:
- Fill the account modification form (WEB).
- E-sign the form.
- Submit the form by creating a ticket.
For non-individual accounts:
-
Fill the account modification form
(WEB).
- Add your company seal and authorised signature.
- Send the hard copy to:
Zerodha Customer Support Centre
192A 4th Floor,
Kalyani Vista, 3rd Main Road,
JP Nagar 4th Phase,
Bengaluru, 560076
Your F&O segment will be deactivated within 48 hours. Once
it is deactivated, you’ll need to complete the
F&O activation process to activate it again
.
Things to keep in mind
- Once the GTT triggers, if you have disabled the segment, your orders will be rejected. The same applies to basket orders and SIPs that get triggered.
- Even if you disable the segment, your demat account remains open with Zerodha. Hence, you will still be charged Account Maintenance Charge (AMC).
