How do I pledge my shares to get collateral margin?

Watch this video walkthrough on pledging or check out the process below.

Visit the holdings page on Console . In the holdings table, hover the cursor on the stock you want to pledge and click on 'options' and select pledge for margins .

Once you do, you will get a pop-up, which will show how much margins you will be eligible for.

The cost of pledging will be ₹30 + GST irrespective of the quantity pledged.

In light of the recent regulatory changes , you will have to authorize your pledge request at the depository after you have raised it on Console.

P.S: Pledge will be processed in batches, once at 2.00 pm and once at 5.00 pm. Even if you create a pledge request at 11.00 am, you will receive the email from CDSL only at 2.15, once Zerodha has setup the pledge.

It's important that all pledge be accepted by 7.00 pm. Failure to do so will mean that you will not get margins against the pledged stocks.
