Why did CDSL/NSDL deposit money to my account?

Depositories usually credit money to your account for the following reasons:

1.  Interest credit on Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB)

SGBs bear interest at the rate of 2.50 per cent (fixed rate) per annum on the amount of initial investment. Interest will be credited semi-annually to your bank account. The depositories notify via mail.

2. Dividends

3. Partial entitlement during corporate actions like bonus issues, stock splits, etc. In such cases, you receive money in your bank account in place of the fractional shares you are entitled to receive. Click here to know more about partial entitlement.

4. Interest received from State Development Loans(SDL). You can learn more about G-secs on Varsity .
