Why is the error “Exchanges have temporarily restricted trading in your account” displayed when placing an order?
The error Exchanges have temporarily restricted trading in your account is displayed for one of the following reasons:
- New Zerodha account: The error message is displayed if the exchanges are yet to process the account opening data provided by Zerodha. The error message is generally displayed for new accounts within 3 days of opening. If the error message is displayed beyond this, please create a ticket. - PAN and Aadhaar are not linked: According to a press release from the Ministry of Finance (WEB), failure to link PAN with Aadhaar will result in the complete suspension of trading and investing from July 1st. To learn how to link the PAN and Aadhaar, see How to link PAN with Aadhaar?
