Why are there live ticks on a Saturday?

There is a mock trading session on any one Saturday, every month, conducted by the exchange. During the mock session, the brokers test out their trading infrastructure. They also test out new products/systems, contingency drills etc. Hence, there are live ticks on Kite on a Saturday.

Your holdings or positions value is displayed as per the mock-trading prices. Due to this, you may see incorrect prices on the Market watch and also incorrect positions or holdings value. However, at the end of the session, Friday's closing will be updated.

You can check out the mock trading calendar for NSE and MCX here.
