What happens if I lose my TOTP authenticator app?
Go to https://kite.zerodha.com & click on the forgot password option. Once you do, you will be prompted to enter your User ID and PAN. You can choose to reset your 2FA using your registered email ID or phone number.
Select either 'E-mail' or 'SMS' and enter your registered email id or phone no. accordingly. Enter the CAPTCHA and click on 'Reset'.
Note: If you have your mobile no. on DND, you may not receive the OTP SMS. Please use reset your password & PIN using your registered E-mail ID.
If you have selected 'E-mail' you will receive an email with a link to reset your PIN. Click on the button to reset your 2FA.
If you have selected 'SMS', you will receive an SMS with an OTP. Enter this OTP to proceed with resetting your PIN.
Once you do either of this, you will be redirected to a new page as shown below where you have to set a new password and PIN. Once you do, click on 'Save'.
Once you request for a reset, the TOTP login is disabled for your account and you can login with a PIN. To enable TOTP again, log into Kite and set up TOTP as explained here.
