What is a contract note?

A contract note is the legal record of all transactions through stockbrokers on stock exchanges, and it includes all the trades executed on a particular day. It serves as the confirmation of all the transactions and has a breakdown of all the charges incurred. Zerodha sends you a separate contract note for each day's auction market transactions, and you can also access these contract notes through Console. To learn more, see How to understand the contract note?

Things to keep in mind

  • Scrip-wise charges are not available on the contract note.
  • Annual Maintenance Charges (AMC), payment gateway charges, Depository Participant (DP) charges, call and trade charges and delayed payment charges are not displayed on the contract note.
