You can activate Securities Lending and Borrowing (SLB) online through Console, and deactivate it by submitting a signed account modification form.
How to activate SLB
Ensure that Demat Debit and Pledge Instruction (DDPI) or POA is enabled for your Zerodha account before activating SLB.
To activate SLB:
- Log in to console.zerodha.com/account/slb.
- Click on the check box to accept the terms and conditions.
- Click on Submit.
How to deactivate SLB
To deactivate SLB, you need to submit a signed account modification form:
- Download and print the account modification form (PDF).

Choose one of the following options:
• eSign the form and submit it by creating a ticket
• Sign the form physically and courier it to the address below:

Refer to the sample copy of the physically signed modification form for SLB for guidance.
For non-individual accounts, including companies, LLPs, HUFs, and others, deactivation can only be done offline and requires an authorised seal and signature on the account modification form.
Processing time
Your SLB activation or deactivation will be processed within 48 working hours after you submit your request.
