You can change the name in your Zerodha account by first updating your name with the Income Tax Department (ITD) and then submitting the required documents to Zerodha.
Zerodha updates the name on your account from the Income Tax Department (ITD), not from the documents you submitted to open your account, so the name may differ between your Zerodha account and your submitted documents. To update the name on your account as per your submitted documents, you must first update the name on the ITD.
After you update the name with the ITD, you must provide certain documents to Zerodha. The documents required depend on the category of the name change. This is as per CDSL instructions. Follow the table for detailed instructions.
