What is the procedure to change or correct the name in the Zerodha account?
To change or correct the name in the Zerodha account, the name must first be changed on the Income Tax Database (ITD). To learn how to update the name, see Why is the name on my Zerodha account different than on the documents I've submitted?.
After the name is updated on the ITD, courier the account modification form (PDF) and Annexure B (PDF) signed by the holder whose name is being changed, along with a self-attested copy of the PAN and address proof. If Aadhaar is being submitted as proof, ensure that a masked Aadhaar is submitted, i.e., black out the first 8 digits of the Aadhaar number. Only the last four digits should be visible. To download a masked Aadhaar online, visit myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ and tick the Do you want a masked Aadhaar? option while downloading Aadhaar.
