How to disable Time-based OTP (TOTP)?

Time-based OTP (TOTP) is a 6-digit 2FA security feature used to log in to a Zerodha account. To disable, visit and follow the steps on the steps below:

  1. Go to Password & Security on My Profile
  2. On the account security page, click on Disable 2FA TOTP
  3. Then enter current password and set up a new 6 digit PIN to log in to the Zerodha account.

To disable TOTP through the Kite app,

  1. Click on Forgot user ID or password?
  2. Enter user ID, PAN and select E-mail¹ or SMS.
  3. Enter the Captcha and click on Reset .
  4. Enter the OTP received and Continue .
  5. Enter and repeat the new password and PIN and click on Save.

If the mobile number is on DND, there may be an issue in receiving the OTP. Please reset the password and 2Factor PIN using the registered email ID.
