How to add a secondary bank account to a Zerodha account?

To add a secondary bank account, follow these steps:

Kite app

  1. Tap on the user ID.
  2. Tap on Profile.
  3. Tap on Manage account.
  4. Tap on > and then on Bank.
  5. Tap on Add bank account.
  6. Enter the bank details and accept the terms and conditions.
  7. Tap on E-mail or Mobile to receive the OPT and tap on Send OTP.
  8. Enter the OTP.
  9. Tap on Verify.

  1. Log in to console.zerodha.com.
  2. Click on Account.
  3. Click on Bank.
  4. Click on Add bank account.
  5. Enter the account number and IFSC and accept the undertaking.
  6. Select to receive the OTP via e-mail or mobile and click on Send OTP.
  7. Enter the OTP and click on Verify.

If a joint bank account is being linked and the Zerodha account holder is not the first holder in the bank account, please create a ticket with any of the following bank proofs:

  • A self-attested scanned copy of a personalised cancelled cheque with the account holder's name printed on the cheque.
  • A self-attested copy of the bank statement with the name, IFSC and MICR numbers clearly visible.
  • A self-attested copy of the bank passbook with the name, IFSC, and MICR numbers clearly visible.

The request is processed within 48 working hours, and a confirmation email is sent. Adding or modifying a secondary bank account is free.
