How long does it take to open an account, and where can you track the status?

Your Zerodha account will be opened within 48 hours if your KYC is verified and all documents submitted are correct. Once your account is opened, your login credentials will be sent to your registered email. The account opening process may be put on hold if there are any discrepancies in the documents submitted.

If you’re opening a Zerodha account for the first time, or if you update your KYC details during the application, your details need to be verified by the KYC Registration Agency (KRA) as per SEBI guidelines.

The KRA can take up to 72 hours to complete this verification, which may delay your account opening. In case your KYC is not approved, Zerodha will send you an email with the reason and the list of documents required.

How to track account opening status?

You can track your account opening status by logging in to signup.zerodha.com. If your account opening is delayed for more than 48 working hours, please create a ticket.
