Even if the conditions are met, Kite alerts may not be triggered if the tick is not captured. The system triggers an alert when a stock price reaches or crosses the set trigger price based on the ticks recorded or shown live. Since hundreds of transactions occur on the exchange every second, each represented by a tick, a tick can be missed. If the tick is missed, the alert may not be triggered and may remain pending until the stock price again reaches the trigger price.
Example scenario
- Assume the price of XYZ Ltd is ₹105, and the Kite alert is set to be triggered when the stock reaches ₹100.
-
The stock momentarily reached the trigger price of ₹100, and the tick wasn't recorded in the system. Since the tick wasn’t recorded in the system, the alert wasn’t triggered.
