Why is the error "KYC verification required” displayed when I place an order?

The error KYC verification required. If this is a new account, activation takes up to one day is displayed for one of the following reasons:
  • New Zerodha account: The exchanges typically take up to 3 days to process your account opening data after Zerodha submits it. If you continue to see this error beyond 3 days, create a ticket.
  • KYC not validated by KRA agencies: Your KYC might not have been validated by KRA agencies. Check your KYC status, and if it is not validated, complete the reKYC process by visiting signup.zerodha.com/rekyc.
  • Dormant account: Your account becomes dormant when you make no transactions for over 24 months. You can reactivate your account by completing the rekyc.
  • Recently enabled segment: The exchanges can take up to 24 hours to update a newly enabled segment on your account.
  • Incomplete KYC information: You must provide six KYC details as per NSE requirements: name, PAN, valid mobile number, email ID, complete address, and income details.
