No, you do not need to pay separately for historical data and live market data if you use the paid Kite Connect API. Both historical and live market data are included at no additional cost with your paid subscription.

This plan allows you to place orders and track your positions, holdings, and funds. It does not include live market data or historical data.
- Kite Connect (Paid) API: You get all Personal API features plus access to live market data and historical data at no additional cost. This plan costs ₹500 per month per API key.
Brokerage-based Developer Credits for monthly renewal
Effective from October 2026, paid Kite Connect users who generate ₹2,000 or more in brokerage during a calendar month receive 500 Developer Credits (worth ₹500). You can use these credits to renew your Kite Connect app subscription for the following month at no additional cost.
Zerodha evaluates eligibility automatically at the end of each calendar month. For example:
