What are the preset screeners on Kite, and how do they work?

The Kite screener lets you filter stocks based on price action and fundamental criteria. Along with custom screeners, Kite offers preset screeners, which are ready-made filters that help you quickly find stocks matching common trading and investing themes.

Preset screeners are divided into two categories: Price action and Fundamentals.

Price action screeners

Price action screeners use intraday data (open, high, low, close, volume, VWAP (Volume-Weighted Average Price), previous close, and 52-week high/low) to surface stocks based on how they are trading during the day.

  • Condition: Daily % change is positive.
  • Sorted by: Daily % change, highest first.

Top losers: Stocks with the highest percentage price decline for the day.

  • Condition: Daily % change is negative.
  • Sorted by: Daily % change, lowest first.

Things to keep in mind

  • Negative Debt/Equity ratios are excluded. In screeners that filter by Debt/Equity below a threshold, stocks with a negative Debt/Equity ratio are excluded, as this typically indicates negative net worth rather than a debt-free balance sheet.
  • Fundamental data is based on the latest available quarterly report.
  • Price action screeners reflect live intraday data and update in real time during market hours.
