Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Who is eligible to apply under the shareholder category for the Jio IPO?

Resident individuals and Hindu Undivided Families (HUFs) who hold Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) stocks as of 14 October 2026 (the RHP date) are eligible to apply under the shareholder category. Corporate bodies, societies, and trusts are excluded from this category.

Can you apply across multiple categories for the Jio IPO?

Yes. You can apply across all eligible categories directly on Kite. For example, if you hold RIL stocks, you can submit separate applications under both the Retail category and the Shareholder category.

What is the deadline to accept the UPI mandate for the Jio IPO?

The deadline to accept the UPI mandate for the Jio IPO is 7:00 PM on the closing day, 23 October 2026.

What is the cut-off price?

Bidding at the cut-off price indicates your agreement to purchase the stocks at the final price fixed by the company within the price band (₹1065 to ₹1119). Selecting the cut-off price ensures your bid remains valid even if the final issue price is set at the upper limit. Bids submitted below the final issue price are rejected. Only Retail bids up to ₹200,000 can select the cut-off price; HNI bids above ₹200,000 must specify a price.

What should you do if the mandate is delayed or contains incorrect details?

Mandates are generated by the bank and relayed through the exchange. If the mandate is delayed or contains incorrect details, wait for the correct mandate request to arrive on your UPI app and accept it before 7:00 PM on 23 October 2026. Zerodha does not control mandate generation or fund processing. For any issues regarding blocked funds, contact your bank directly.

What happens if an updated mandate is not received after modifying the application?

Wait for the new mandate request to arrive on your UPI app. If the updated mandate does not arrive, your previously accepted mandate remains valid for the original application.

Why is the payment status on Kite not updated after accepting the mandate?

The payment status on Kite is updated directly from the exchange and can experience delays. You can ignore the status delay on Kite as long as the funds are blocked in your bank account and the application number matches the mandate. The application is considered successful once the funds are blocked.

Can High Net-Worth Individual (HNI) applications be cancelled or modified?

High Net-Worth Individual (HNI) applications cannot be cancelled or modified downwards once submitted. If you experience delays, enter an incorrect UPI ID, or face issues with the mandate, apply through netbanking ASBA. This rule applies across all categories.

How can HUF, NRI, and corporate accounts apply for the Jio IPO?

Hindu Undivided Family (HUF) and Non-Resident Indian (NRI) account holders can apply on Kite using UPI or through their bank's netbanking ASBA facility. If you do not have a UPI ID, apply through netbanking ASBA. Corporate accounts (companies, partnerships, LLPs, AOPs, trusts, and societies) cannot apply using UPI and must apply using netbanking ASBA. Sole proprietorship firm bank accounts, or current bank accounts, can be used if the bank account name matches your PAN details.

Does pre-applying for an IPO increase the chances of stock allotment?

No. Pre-applying allows you to place your order before the issue officially opens, but it does not alter or increase your chances of stock allotment.

Can multiple applications be submitted using different demat accounts under the same PAN?

No. Multiple applications submitted for the same IPO using different demat accounts mapped to the same Permanent Account Number (PAN) are rejected as duplicate applications.

Where can the application and allotment status be tracked?

You can track your application and allotment status on the registrar portal or the exchange website. View all active public issues on the upcoming IPOs page, or refer to support.zerodha.com/category/console/ipo for additional queries.
