You will receive dividends if you hold the stock in your demat account on the ex-date/record date of the dividend issue. Dividend payments are typically credited directly to your primary bank account linked to your Zerodha account.
Eligibility requirements
- Holding period: You must hold the stock in your demat account on the ex-date/record date.
- Purchase timing: Buy the stock at least one day before the ex-date/record date to ensure delivery into your demat account by the record date.
When you receive dividends
- Payment timeline: Dividends are usually credited between 30 to 45 days after the ex-date/record date.
- Payment method: Dividends are credited directly to your primary bank account linked to your Zerodha account.
You can track your dividends on Console.
If dividends are not received
If you were eligible for dividends but did not receive them, you should contact the company's Registrar and Transfer Agent (RTA) . The RTA handles all dividend payments for companies, and Zerodha does not receive details about dividend credits to shareholders. If your dividend credit is unsuccessful for any reason, the company's RTA will issue a dividend warrant and courier it to your registered postal address. You can deposit this warrant into your bank account and encash it.
