When can I withdraw my funds if I sell my shares or close my positions today?

Settlement from any equity based trades i.e sale of stocks from demat, BTST, or intraday is on a T+2 basis. Hence the funds will be available for withdrawal on T+2.

For all F&O transactions, settlement is on a T+1 basis, hence the funds will be available for withdrawal on a T+1 basis. Please do read this article on the rolling settlement cycle to know more.

The proceeds from the sale are only available in your Withdrawable balance after their applicable settlement cycle.

For example,

If you sell your shares on Friday from your Demat account/holdings (equity based trade) you will be able to withdraw the proceeds on Tuesday evening. (However, 80% of the proceeds from the sale can be used immediately to make new trades).

For F&O, since the settlement cycle is Trade day +1, if you close your position on Friday, you will be able to withdraw the proceeds on Monday evening.

Note: Equity intraday profits will be available for withdrawal after two days, and F&O intraday profits will be available after one day.
