What happens when a SDL, T-bill and G-sec matures?

The government automatically debits matured securities from your demat account and credits the amount to your primary bank account within 15 working days.

When securities mature, the government automatically debits them from your demat account through a process called extinguishment of securities. You will receive the maturity amount in your primary bank account linked with Zerodha within 15 working days.

CDSL sends an SMS to your registered mobile number upon maturity. You can also view the transaction on your holdings statement.

T-bills disappear from your Kite holdings during the last two days before maturity as they become suspended from trading. However, you can still see them in your Console holdings until the units are debited from your demat account.
