How to pledge shares from Zerodha to another NBFC via CDSL easiest?

Zerodha Capital, the NBFC arm of Zerodha, offers loans against securities. To avail of this facility, please visit Zerodha Capital’s website and register yourself.

Shares held in Zerodha demat account can be pledged using CDSL Easiest by following the steps below:

  1. Log in to CDSL Easiest and click on the Pledge tab on the CDSL easiest home page.

2. Click on Pledgor.


3. Click on Pledge Setup.

4. Click on Normal Pledge , select the Pledgee BOID (added trusted account) followed by Pledge Execution date and Pledge expiry date . Enter the Agreement number and click on + icon and add the ISIN of the security that is to be pledged.

Pledge DP internal reference number and pledge remarks are optional.

The execution date can be entered as today's date if the client is placing the pledge request before 4:00 PM. However, if the process is being carried out after 4:00 PM, the same will be executed on the next day, so the execution date entered should be of the next day in such a case.

5. Select the ISIN, Balance type (Free or locked in), enter the pledge quantity and value and click on OK. Sufficient quantities of securities that are to be pledged should be available in the client's demat account.


6. Click on Submit.


7. After submitting, click on the Pledge tab > click on Pledgor > select the list of pledged ISIN > click on Commit.


Authenticate the pledge transaction by entering the CDSL easiest PIN.

Zerodha will provide an acknowledgement on the registered email ID of the client within 24 hours.
