What happens when a NRI-minor account holder completes 18 years of age?

The minor account must be converted to an NRI-Individual account once the minor turns 18 years old.

Conversion process

1. Submit the documents required for opening a new NRI account.
2. Zerodha will verify your documents and remove the guardian's details.
3. Your account will be converted within 48 working hours.

Check your Client Master Report (CMR) for the word "Minor" before your name. If you see "Minor" prefixed to your account holder's name, you must close your current account and open a new one instead of converting it.
