What do I do if my application to open an account has been rejected stating a name mismatch?

Your account opening application can be rejected due to ‘name mismatch’ in the following scenarios:

1. Name mismatch between PAN and address proof:

a. On the extent of the mismatch between your PAN and address proof, you will have to submit a self-declaration letter or submit an alternative address proof as per your name on the PAN card. If the alternative address proof doesn’t suffice, you will have to provide an affidavit.

b. If the name mismatch is due to marriage, you need to provide the marriage certificate.

2. Name mismatch between PAN card and your bank proof:

Depending on the severity of the mismatch between your PAN and Bank proof, you will be required to provide a self-declaration or banker confirmation letter to process your application.

Note: If there is a name mismatch when you consider your bank proof as address proof, you will have to send us a duly attested banker confirmation letter to process your application further.

As mentioned earlier, the additional documents required may be utterly dependent on the degree of mismatch. If your application has been rejected, you will receive an email notification and a call from your sales manager stating the reason for rejection and the instructions to follow to get your application processed correctly.
