What is the correct buy average for the partly-paid shares?

The buy average for the partly paid shares only includes the paid-up price.

How buy average is calculated

The average purchase price for partly paid shares considers only the paid-up price, not the full share value.

Example: The current buy average of Reliance partly paid shares on Console is ₹314.25, which only includes the already paid call amount of ₹1257. This represents 25% of the total price that has been paid up.

If you buy Reliance rights entitlements (REs) and then apply for the partly paid shares, your total cost would be:

Buy price of the REs + ₹314.25 for the partly paid shares

To check your actual buy price, you can download the contract note from Console and manually track this cost. Since the REs have lapsed, they will appear as a loss in your Profit and Loss (P&L) statement.
