Can funds be transferred using IMPS, NEFT, RTGS or cheque from bank accounts not linked to the Zerodha account?
As per SEBI mandate, funds can be transferred only from bank accounts linked to the Zerodha account. If funds were transferred through NEFT, IMPS, RTGS or cheque from an unlinked bank account in the client’s name. Link the bank account as a secondary bank with Zerodha and create a ticket with the bank statement showing the transaction details. Once the bank account is added and the transaction is confirmed, the funds will be updated within 24 working hours. If funds were transferred from a bank account that is not in the client's name or if the client does not wish to add it as a secondary bank account, create a ticket with the bank statement showing the debit transaction along with the following details:
- Account holder's name.
- Account number.
- IFSC.
- Bank branch.
The amount will be refunded within 48 working hours of creating the ticket.
Did you know?
- If a client has transferred funds from an unmapped NRE account, the fund transfer cannot be reversed. The client must provide an NRO bank account to which the amount will be credited.

An Overdraft (OD) bank account cannot be linked with Zerodha.
