Why does Console and Coin show the 'dirty price' of the Government bond as the buy-average instead of the Clean price?

Console and Coin show the dirty price as your buy average because this represents your actual cost of acquisition.

When you participate as a non-competitive bidder, you pay the weighted average price (clean price) that emerges in the auction plus accrued interest from the last interest payment date to the date of re-issue of the security. Accrued interest is calculated using the coupon rate and time from the last coupon payment.

On the interest payment date, you will receive the interest amount for the entire duration from the previous interest payment date. However, you purchased the bond partway through this period and did not own it for the complete duration. This works similarly to price adjustments in stocks when dividends are issued.

Trading in Government securities on NSE commenced on December 17, 2018, and trading in G-sec includes accrued interest (dirty price).
